Description

The Chief Accountant oversees all accounting functions, ensures the integrity of financial data, provides leadership to the accounting department, and brings expertise in costing, taxes, and general accounting. The role requires the individual to be willing to stay on premises.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze Trial Balance to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee all accounting operations.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and effective reporting of all financial information, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Costing:

  • Oversee and manage product costing and standard costing.
  • Analyze and monitor raw material, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimize costing methods and procedures.

Taxes:

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and other compliance requirements.
  • Stay updated with changing tax regulations and ensure company adherence.
  • Advise on tax implications of business decisions and strategies.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with Local Accounting Standard.
  • Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
  • Ensure compliance with local government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Audit & External Relations:

  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors to ensure a proper audit process.
  • Foster relationships with external partners, such as banks and other financial institutions.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing the companys budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluate accounting and internal control systems and recommend improvements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure company compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or finance, with a strong emphasis on costing, taxes, and general accounting.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software & ERP and MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills.
