MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide surveying services using the necessary equipment to stake out the location of ore grades, drilling, loading and dumping for the advance of mining operations, in a cost effective safe manner and in accordance with mine surveying procedure.
Key Performance Areas:
- Perform all mining survey activities related to mining and engineering requirements, in accordance with standard procedures and accepted surveys practices.
- Stake out and pick-up drill and blast collars.
- Stake pegs for ore grades, dumps, roads, pit bench elevation control, drilling and loading using survey equipment.
- Ensure that survey reports and plans are properly filed and securely stored.
- Highlight deviations from loading parameters.
- Reduce and calculate all survey control measurements.
- Upload loading composite, design surfaces, ramps and drilling patterns on provision.
- Populate drill control sheets.
- Edit pit shell for volume calculations.
- Suggest and implement best practice business improvement initiatives.
- Carry out drone surveys.
Requirements and experience:
- Grade 12 or current NSSCO with 20 points over 5 subjects.
- Bachelors Degree in Surveying or National Diploma in Survey or equivalent qualification.
- 3 years experience in a mine surveying environment.
- Sound working knowledge of applicable surveying equipment and application of surveying techniques.
- Advanced Mine Survey Certificate.
- Drone License will be an added advantage.
- Valid Code B/BE Drivers License
