PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To manage the overall operations of the Shop & Bistro by applying sound business principles and service excellence to customers and consumers in order to ensure profitability of the store.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration/management or Retail Management or equivalent
  • At least 5 years retail managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of Customer service, Store management, Administration, and Financial understanding.
  • Experience in FMCG is required, additional exposure to the Meat Industry would be an advantage.
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office Package, Abaserve Suite including AbaTrade, AbaPOS, AbaRetail, AbaDeboning).
  • Experience on SAP Systems would be an added advantage.
  • Code B Drivers License.

KEY JOB OUTPUTS:

  • Maximise sales turnover and gross profit through best practices.
  • Minimise cost/ expenses and stock losses (shortages) through effective utilisation of employees.
  • Be accountable for the achievement of monthly budgeted targets.
  • Implement innovative business ideas that result into breakthrough targets.
  • Build and maintain sound relationships with all internal and external stakeholders partnership.
  • Maintain Shop & Bistros specific product ranges and product quality as per QDVP4 standards.
  • Be accountable for stock rotation according to FIFO method.
  • Manage business operations according to standard policies and procedures.
  • Enforce compliance to Standard Operating Procedure among employees and all relevant parties.
  • Oversee and manage all administrative duties of the Shop & Bistro to ensure that they are completed within time limits and within company procedures.
  • Oversee the scheduling and planning of employees working hours for the week and approve weekly schedules.
  • Control and oversee effective utilisation of systems, i.e. Jarrison, Abaserve, etc.
  • Facilitate weekly open forums with employees and other relevant meetings with employees.
  • See to it that all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Manage the housekeeping of the store and adherence to Food safety standards.
  • Provide relevant training and transfer of knowledge through on-the-job training, guidance and coaching.
  • Discipline employees according to group policy and procedure, providing support and facilitating counselling where required.
  • Report and where possible handle cases of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, or contravention of regulations.
