Job Responsibilities:
- Assign, Instruct, and Lead: Lead, instruct, and assign the right individuals to appropriate tasks.
- Effective Planning: Plan, supervise, and organize work tasks to ensure timely achievement of daily objectives.
- Performance Management: Supervise and manage work teams to meet company standards and procedures.
- Discipline Management: Enforce discipline according to company standards and procedures.
- Mentorship: Provide regular mentorship to team members for technical skill transfer and teamwork.
- Mobilization and Demobilization: Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of personnel, equipment, and materials at job start-up and completion.
- Estimation: Prepare labor and material estimates in consultation with the Project Manager or Project Coordinator.
- Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership, foster an atmosphere of accountability and consistency, and lead teams towards an inspiring future.
- Communication: Foster an environment where employees can freely communicate, encouraging creativity and innovation.
Job Supervision:
- Administrative Tasks: Ensure accurate completion and timely submission of administrative tasks such as timesheets and reports to payroll.
- Estimation: Prepare labor and material estimates in consultation with the Project Manager or Project Coordinator.
- Forecasting: Forecast labor hours and job durations and monitor them against actuals.
- Material Control: Monitor material usage quantities on jobs and report any deviations.
- Client Relations: Report client-related difficulties to the Project Manager.
- Continuous Reporting: Maintain consistent reporting of job status and progress.
- Change Management: Manage Variations Orders (VOs) with prior authorization.
- Feedback Meetings: Conduct job feedback meetings to eliminate sub-standard performance.
Job Supervision:

- Labor Utilization: Efficiently manage labor utilization and monitor variations, standby time, and short-time.
- Timekeeping and Attendance: Control timekeeping, attendance, and effective use of materials and tools.
- Quality Assurance: Complete jobs without non-conformances, within budgeted costs and time allocation.
- Skill Application: Ensure the correct skills are applied to prevent reworks.
Compliance: Ensure jobs are completed according to specifications and workmanship standards
Health and Safety:
- Safety Compliance: Complete "5 Steps" safety task observations, monitor audit reports, and drive corrective actions.
- Safety File: Maintain and implement all elements in the safety file.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments with your team on-site.
- Incident Reporting: Ensure safety incidents are correctly reported, investigated, and findings implemented.
- Safety Meetings: Execute toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Compliance: Adhere to company and client legislative Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Training and Development:
- Training Needs: Monitor training needs as required by the client.
- Training Execution: Ensure training plans are executed in liaison with the HR Department.
- Outcome Evaluation: Measure and evaluate training outcomes and maintain proper training records on-site.
Ad Hoc Duties:
- Provide on-the-job training and skills development for personnel.
- Attend to any reasonable requests made by the Line Manager within your work scope.
- Adhere to company quality standards and engineering practices.
- Perform overtime work when requested.
Requirements
- Grade 12 and National Trade Certificate.
- Minimum of 6 years of on-the-job experience in a fabrication environment.
- Material/Product Knowledge.
- Computer Literacy (MS Office).
