Description

The Maintenance Technician in the oil and gas industry is a key role responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and operation of equipment and facilities. This position requires specialized knowledge in maintenance practices, equipment management, and operational excellence to support the industry's demanding requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on a variety of oil and gas equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, and instrumentation.
  • Diagnose equipment issues, troubleshoot problems, and conduct repairs as needed to minimize downtime.

Equipment Inspection and Testing:

  • Conduct equipment inspections, testing, and condition assessments to identify maintenance needs and ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Utilize testing and diagnostic tools to evaluate equipment performance.

Operational Support:

  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure equipment readiness and reliability, providing technical expertise to optimize processes and workflow.
  • Assist in startup and shutdown procedures and contribute to process improvements.

Equipment Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Generate reports and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.

Safety Compliance:

  • Follow strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and the environment.
  • Identify and report safety hazards and incidents promptly.

Spare Parts Management:

  • Manage inventory of spare parts and equipment components, ensuring adequate stock levels for maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate procurement and replacement of parts as required.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with fellow technicians, engineers, and operations personnel to address maintenance challenges and achieve operational goals.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as occupational health and safety, environmental science, or engineering; master's degree or relevant certification.
  • Extensive experience in HSE management within the oil and gas industry, with a strong technical background.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices, with specialized expertise in lifting and rigging, logistics operations, and equipment safety.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting technical risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of HSE management software.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform field visits and inspections.
