Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Site Supervisor for one of our clients; this person will oversee and manage mechanical construction projects on the mine.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning - Collaborating with project managers to develop project plans, timelines and budgets for mechanical installations.
  • Team Management - Supervising and coordinating the work of mechanical technicians, contractors and subcontractors to ensure tasks are completed on time and within specifications.
  • Site Safety - Enforcing safety protocols to minimize accidents and maintain a safe working environment for the team.
  • Material and Equipment Management - Ordering ,inspecting and tracking materials, tools and equipment required for the project.
  • Problem Solving - Addressing and resolving any mechanical issues or challenges that may arise during the construction process.
  • Documentation - Maintain accurate records of project process, including daily reports, inspection records and change orders.
  • Communication - Keeping project stakeholders informed of progress, delays, and any changes in project plans.
  • Budget Management - Monitoring project expenses and ensuring they stay within allocated budget.
  • Compliance - Ensuring that all work complies with local building codes, regulations and permits.
  • Technical Expertise - Having a strong understanding of mechanical systems such as HVAC ,plumbing and ventilation to oversee their installation effectively.
  • Inspections - Coordinating and participating in inspections by regulatory authorities or clients.
  • Trouble Shooting - Quickly resolving any mechanical issues or system malfunction.
  • Reporting - Providing regular project status updates to senior management.
  • Client Relations - Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction with mechanical work.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or Diploma in mechanical engineering or any related field
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in a similar role
  • Project management skills
  • Supervisory experience
  • Regulatory knowledge would be an added advantage
