Job Description

Provide support to Spatial Information Technologist in setting up the CAD / GIS Centre and creating centralized Spatial / Geodatabase. To assist in data handling and data management within the centralized CAD / GIS centre.

Key Performance Areas

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Provide support with GIS Project Plans Implementation.
• Assist in the Implementation of an ArcGIS Geodatabase in creating centralized geometric databases.
• Assist with the creation of a smooth transition from CAD files to Shapefiles and to Geodatabase.
• Assist with geodata automation and maintenance from stand-alone solutions to the enterprise version.

Skills, Experience & Education

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

National Diploma in GIS.

REQUIRED SPECIALISATION:

Geographic Information System (GIS).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

A minimum period of two (2) years relevant CAD / GIS experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT:

Code B / BE drivers license.

PRE-APPOINTMENT TRANING AS ADDED ADVANTAGE:

Computer programming and database administration.

KNOWLEGDE:

Computer literacy. Understands drawing and maps. Familiar with CAD / GIS environment / Platforms. Knowledge of ArcGIS softwares. Good communication.

SKILLS:

Organized, punctual, ability to work independently, ability to take initiative, confidential and neat. Computer literacy.
