Legal Assistant Job

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION (6 Months FTC):

To assist the Legal Director in ensuring that the Company operates within the law at all times, offer counsel on legal issues, provide legal advise to the Company, Board and Management in order for the organization to effectively meet its organizational and business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

• Bachelors degree in law (LLB or B Jurius)
• 3 - 5 years of experience in a corporate environment
• Proven experience in a corporate governance role
• Admitted as a Legal Practitioner is an advantage
• MS Office proficient with (with specific focus on Excel, Word & Power Point)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assist with and conduct legal research.
• Drafting of opinions.
• Provide expert legal advice.
• Keep abreast of legislative changes, including attending to Parliament and collating relevant legislation applicable to the Company.
• Monitor and ensure that the Companys intellectual properties such as trademarks, logos, brands, are not infringed upon and in this regard consult with management on the use and protection of such rights.
• Advise on competition conduct and activities of competitors and all other parties involved with the Companys products or infringing on Companys intellectual property.
• Assist with and render Company secretarial services as may be instructed from time to time and performs all duties that pertain thereto.
• Assist with and co-ordinate ad-hoc legal projects, which includes to conduct research, compile training material.
• Manage an effective filing system.
• Ad-hoc matters as instructed.
