Description
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Load Master to join their warehouse team. If you have a solid background in warehouse operations, strong leadership skills, the ability to operate a forklift, and proficiency in both spoken and written Afrikaans, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the loading and unloading of goods in the warehouse, ensuring efficient and safe practices.
- Coordinate the placement and organization of goods within the warehouse to optimize space utilization.
- Operate a forklift to move and handle materials as required.
- Lead a team of warehouse personnel, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Assign tasks and set priorities to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of work.
- Ensure accuracy in documentation, such as packing slips, bills of lading, and inventory records.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate channels.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve warehouse processes and implement best practices.
Requirements
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse setting, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Proficiency in operating a forklift is highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including fluency in spoken and written Afrikaans.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
