PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:


To carry out preventative maintenance schedules and general repairs and maintenance tasks in a prompt, safe and efficient manner.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  • Grade 12
  • Minimum of 5 years practical experience in lodge/hotel setup.
  • Fault-finding and good knowledge of all lodge/hotel equipment.
  • Knowledge on repairing plumbing systems, fixing company equipment or tools and testing room appliances and furniture to ensure they work properly.
  • Painting experience.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms.
  • Touch-up painting.
  • Ensure that all appliances are present in the room and in working order.
  • Replace light fixtures.
  • Repair all guest rooms in accordance with the room preventative maintenance procedures and standard guidelines.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on rooms equipment as required and miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.
  • Report all technical faults to supervisor.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor.
  • Ensure the appropriate PPE is worn during all repairs.
