PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To carry out preventative maintenance schedules and general repairs and maintenance tasks in a prompt, safe and efficient manner.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 5 years practical experience in lodge/hotel setup.
- Fault-finding and good knowledge of all lodge/hotel equipment.
- Knowledge on repairing plumbing systems, fixing company equipment or tools and testing room appliances and furniture to ensure they work properly.
- Painting experience.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms.
- Touch-up painting.
- Ensure that all appliances are present in the room and in working order.
- Replace light fixtures.
- Repair all guest rooms in accordance with the room preventative maintenance procedures and standard guidelines.
- Perform preventative maintenance on rooms equipment as required and miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.
- Report all technical faults to supervisor.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
- Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor.
- Ensure the appropriate PPE is worn during all repairs.
