PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:


Welcome guests and ensure the service offered creates an unforgettable, unique experience. Responsible for the night and day receptionist duties including bill reconciliation, assisting guests with completing registration cards, assigning rooms, verifying the guest's method of payment and following established credit-checking procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES


  • Grade 12
  • 2 years experience in a 4* hotel/lodge

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Operate inimitable Customer Experience and Quality Assurance Initiatives.
  • Own and Live the O&L persona, anchored in caring, passionate, authentic.
  • Provide personalized guest service based on preferences and ensures an ever-lasting bond is created with guests.
  • Maintain knowledge of Mokuti Etosha products, culture, and hours of operation.
  • Maintain a friendly attitude, welcome, and acknowledge each guest with a smile, and a friendly verbal greeting in line with the sequence of service.
  • Handle all guest complaints courteously and professionally and provide feedback to the guest.
  • Familiarize oneself with daily arrivals and functions at the Lodge.
  • Check-in and Check Guests.
  • Posting charges to guest rooms and House accounts.
  • Cash handling and management of float.
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the Lodge.
  • Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notification housekeeping of all checkouts, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests, and day-use rooms.
  • Ensure the application of correct rates as they impact revenue and yield management.
  • Verify credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods, as well as handling cash, making changes, and balancing an assigned house bank.
  • Prepare all required shift paperwork and reports accurately and completely.
  • Close guest accounts at the time of checkout and ascertain guest satisfaction.
  • Register guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.
  • Assists in preregistration and blocking of rooms for reservations.
  • Thoroughly understand and adheres to proper credit, check-cashing, and cash-handling policies and procedures.
