Operational Requirements:
- Work closely with management to achieve outcomes based on company goals.
- Accountable for overall administrative functions of the operations such as daily KPI reports, submission of overtime reports, monthly budget variance reports, and discrepancy reports.
- Analyse all aspects of logistics to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting products and supplies.
- Assist in developing and managing the operations budgets.
- Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations.
- Work with the department managers and coordinate staff to execute business plans for the company.
- Enhance workflow and cross-departmental engagements.
- Responsible for handling all operations-related HR issues.
- Maintaining open and frequent channels of communication with other branches/divisions within your sphere of responsibility.
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12).
- A tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain would be advantageous.
- Extensive experience in cross-border freight clearing.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the transport industry, with at least 1 year in an operations management position.
- Proficient in loading and off-loading break bulk goods on vehicles ranging from 1 ton to interlinks.
- Strong materials handling skills, including forklift operation, tie-down procedures, and Hazchem operations.
- Proven track record in staff management with a comprehensive understanding of HR/IR functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong report-writing skills.
