PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Leading and managing all financial and strategic activities of the corporate finance team. Instill a mind-set and financial discipline throughout the Groups finance teams to ensure accurate and timeous reporting. This inter alia includes Group Reporting, providing information to financiers, assisting with debt raising, monitoring of covenants, and ensuring technical compliance in terms of IFRS, taxation and Companies Act in the O&L Group of Companies.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- B Accounting (Honours) degree or CTA.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with completed articles and 5-8 years post article experience.
- Relevant management experience would be an advantage.
- IFRS, Namibian Tax, & Companies Act knowledge.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Group Reporting (monthly/ quarterly/annually)
- Responsible for the Group Business Performance report, Group Management Accounts, Group interim financial statements and Group Statutory Financial statements.
- Responsible for organizing the Olfitra Annual Integrated report and compilation.
- Provide assistance and preparation of various presentations/reports for CFO and Board.
Half year & Year end Reviews
- Responsible for half year reviews at operating companies, reporting on the results and the recommendations from the review to the audit committee.
- Responsible for driving the year-end process in the O&L Group of companies by setting up reporting timelines and managing compliance thereto.
Group Budget process
- Responsible for driving the annual Group Budget process, compiling consolidated Group budgets, and preparing the Board pack on the Budgets. (and ensuring compliance thereto) and submission reporting formats.
Technical advice & compliance to IFRS in the O&L Group
- Investigate technical queries w.r.t IFRS, Companies Act or Tax Act and other texts to suggest a solution to various operating companies in the O&L Group.
- Provide technical compliance assistance in terms of IFRS, taxation and Companies Act in the O&L Group of Companies.
- Research, design and implement new accounting standards in the O&L Group.
Implement Best Practices
- Develop and implement finance policies, procedures & systems.
- Develop, plan, and implement projects as per CFO instructions (inclusive of debt financing, listing/delisting).
- Research, design and implement new or improved reporting methods that are on-time and value adding.
Management of the O&L Corporate Finance department:

- Identifying priority action areas from the Groups strategic and business plans and including this in an annual business plan, ensuring key focus areas are executed and implemented.
- Build effective inter- and intra-departmental relationships.
- Identify, assign, and manage individual and team roles and responsibilities.

Financial Control
- Lead the department to have monthly financial control meetings at all operating companies to ensure that financial reporting controls are in place and no unexpected surprises at year-end.
- Monitor compliance of the opcos / group to debt covenants.
