Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner at the sales counter.
• Provide product information, recommendations, and technical assistance to customers regarding building materials.
• Understand customer needs and offer suitable solutions to maximize customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash handling and operating the point-of-sale system.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales counter area, including restocking shelves and ensuring product displays are appealing.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Keep up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends to effectively communicate and upsell products to customers.
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and escalate issues as necessary.
• Collaborate with the sales team to achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Requirements

1. Previous experience in a similar role within the building materials industry is highly desirable.
2. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
3. Strong knowledge of building materials, including their uses, specifications, and applications.
4. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers of varying knowledge levels.
5. Basic math skills and proficiency in using point-of-sale systems.
6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
8. Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items as required.
9. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in building materials sales is a plus.
