We are offering you an opportunity to be part of our Client's Namibian store. The suitable
candidate must be dynamic and motivated, with strong managerial skills and excellent book
knowledge. The applicant's particular qualities will determine the position's range and scope.

Outputs for the Job

Ensuring the profitability of the store
An ability to be proactive and become involved with the entire functioning of the shop
Managing staff (providing leadership to enhance team effectiveness e.g. performance management,
training and development, recruitment, employment relations, etc.)
Must be willing to become actively involved with IR issues if and when there is a need
Must be able and willing to take on tasks and projects when needed e.g. Head Office initiatives etc.
Liaising with Publishers/ Managing the front-of-store functions
Building relationships with schools and Libraries in the area
Cash control /General Administration /Stock Management
Overseeing security and maintenance
Implementing operating procedures / Asset management / System Integrity



Previous supervisory experience
MUST have Minimum 3yrs Book Store management
Store-related administration skills
People management skills (i.e.performance management, IR, recruitment)
Excellent book knowledge
Knowledge of retail management principles
Understanding of business and operational requirements
Knowledge of book buying


Complete Microsoft Office Suite
Strong customer focus
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work overtime when required
Good decision-making skills and the ability to delegate
Ability to handle conflict
Ability to liaise at a senior level
Proven ability to build and maintain relations with staff, Head Office, customers, suppliers, and schools


People orientated
A retail-related qualification would be advantageous
Organizational skills
Attention to detail
