Position summary

Introduction

The Senior Business Manager works closely with Executive Management The senior business manager is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and overall performance of an organization. The Incumbent will work with CAM Executives to ensure the company's goals and objectives are being met. The incumbent will develop and implement strategic plans, assess market trends, and source and evaluate new business opportunities. The position is responsible to engage with key internal and external stakeholders, such as Capricorn Group Functions, investors, regulators, and government officials to ensure new products and services are brought to market. In addition, the incumbent will take on specific projects and drive it to implementation with the assistance of the CAM executives leading and implementing various strategic planning processes across the organization.

Job description


Business Relationships

  • Translate business needs into performance requirements by proactively delivering solution-able strategies through effective collaboration and consultation. Develop meaningful relationships with key people in the business unit(s).
  • Provide strategic advice to meet operational business requirements. Consult continuously to determine evolving business requirements and assist with the development and implementation of responsive effective and value-adding Strategies.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact in providing advice, problem-resolution, and facilitation in areas of management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.
  • Remain abreast with all current and future business trends, internal and external through effective networking ad self-study

Strategic Management

  • Understands the overall strategy of Capricorn Asset Management and provides valuable input into the strategy, culture, and business objectives;
  • Accountable for the strategic direction, management, and performance of CAM.
  • Develops and drives the growth and service strategy of CAM andits clients, ensuring that is in line with and supports the Groups broader strategy and business objectives;
  • Ensures that processes, structures, systems, and resources required to effectively service and develop CAM and executive clients are in place in order to support anddrive the current and future viability of CAM;
  • Continually searches for ways to improve client orientation and service delivery;
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the strategic business drives, opportunities, challenges, needs, competition, and threats inherent to relevant business/ client environments;
  • Negotiates and drive feasible projects into implentation
  • Views day-to-day decisions, relationships, and operations in terms of the bigger picture, keeping the overall objective of CAM in mind.
  • Ensure that strategic objectives are translated into tactical delivery with mechanisms for key measurements in place to monitor progress;

Knowledge Management

  • Ensures that legal documentation is reviewed immediately upon the commencement of a regulatory change and formally reviewed at least every 3 years;
  • Facilitates the adaptation of reviewed legal documentation for use in Capricorn Asset management.

Negotiations

  • Participate in negotiations with third parties on behalf of Capricorn Asset Management in legal related matters

Other Duties

  • Senior legal counsel to the firm and clients
  • Attending meetings on behalf of the Managing Director
  • Chairman of the CAM innovation hub and provide tactical support to implement ideas
  • Assist the MD in determining key performance indicators and how to measure team performance
  • Responding to inquiries on behalf of the Managing Director
  • Identifying and helping solve core problems or opportunities within business processes
  • Providing the MD and other senior leaders with insight and analysis on the companys operations
  • Providing support and oversight for special projects and initiatives
  • Actively manage the balance score card of CAM.

Academic Qualifications

  • LLB Degree

Ideal

  • lRelevant Masters degree
  • Admitted as a legal practitioner to the High Court of Namibia

Relevant Experience

  • 10 years of relevant experience in a similar environment of which 3 years should be a senior management-related role
