Description
- Coordinating and supervising over all stages of the hiring process:
- Job postings
- Reviewing and screening applications
- Interviews
- On boarding new employees
- Oversee all background checks and drug screens while ensuring compliance with local employment laws
- Implementing of Namibian Labour Legislation, including the Affirmative Action Plan
- SSC management
- Designing the group human resources department structure, positions and process system in compliance to its strategic mandate
- Addressing employee conflicts and complete investigations as required
- Together with management, administer employee discipline or corrective action when needed
- Assessing employee engagement and retention.
- Actively working to identify, analyse, and improve any problematic areas.
- Designing and implementing training and development programs for hourly and salaried employees. This will include;
- Making use of your knowledge of policies like the Family and Medical Leave Act, workers comp, short-term disability, and long-term disability to teach employees about their workers rights.
- Overseeing and coordinating the standard of all documentation flowing into the wages office from the group.
- Together with the branch managers, ensure that employees have a systematic method for reporting work hours.
- Filing new hire paperwork (manually and electronically) and maintaining a disciplinary file on each employee.
- Updating and maintaining employee data/files as required
- Leave administration
- These policies include, but are not limited to;
- Anti-harassment and non-discrimination, code of conduct., recruitment policy, internet & email policy, study leave policy, cell phone & landline policy, etc.
- Conducting yearly audit on all HR & IR related matters for each branch in the group.
Requirements
- A relevant B. Degree in Human Resources Management
- Relevant years of experience
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Knowledge of the Namibian Labour Act, Social Security Act and Affirmative Action (Employment) Act.
- Strong administrative skills and procedural control
- Leadership skills, Communication skills, Self-management and Documentation development
