Quality Assurance Officer

Role:
- Manage the overall stock flow in the warehouse and stock age procedures and records
- Inspect all perishable items from inbound and outbound shipments
- Perform quality assessment of items upon delivery as well as when products are moved into the picking area before dispatch
- Ensure that all products are of high quality and maintained in the highest standard possible
- Oversee the re-packing of products and repair of damages
- Ensure the warehouse is free of insects and pests
- Support the sourcing team with the ideal stock levels and report on unnoticed low stock levels
- Ensure that everyone in the warehouse follows the security and quality requirements at all times as required by the Warehouse Manager
- Take note of damages in transit from the fulfillment agents and drivers, investigate where necessary and elaborate reports
- Makes recommendations to management regarding reduction in shrink
- Maintains logs and records of spoilage, including information on overbuying, lack of retail performance, weak produce, etc.
- Observe all Company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements/ Skills:
- Able to learn the standards for FMCG and fresh produce
- Good attention to detail
- Able to safely operate a forklift and similar power equipment; ability to obtain appropriate certification to operate forklift
- Able to work effectively in an open, dynamic, and collaborative environment
- Good initiative and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues skillfully, appropriately, and in a timely manner
- Strong sense of urgency while remaining calm under pressure
- Strong computer skills, and Microsoft Office package
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a leading role in the warehouse or quality control position
- Good knowledge of inventory control processes and of proper manufacturing & distribution warehouse organization
