The University of Namibia is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the vacant Veterinary Clinician position, Faculty of Health Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, School of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Academic Hospital, Neudamm
Specification
- Treatment of clinical cases and supervision of students treating companion animals at UNAM Veterinary Hospital. Lecturing veterinary students in selected topics as determined by the Head of Department. Conduct practical sessions in the Skills lab/wet lab, and where applicable with live animals. Supervise and conduct continuous assessment of students in clinical rotations. Active participation in research and community service in the School of Veterinary Medicine.
Requirements
- BVM or equivalent qualification. Unconditional Registration as a Veterinarian in Namibia, with at least 5 continuous years of clinical experience in all companion animals, including canine, feline and equine patients. Experience in cage bird and exotic animal medicine will be an advantage. Experience in mentoring junior clinical staff in the context of a veterinary hospital in companion animal clinical practice including surgery and internal medicine is a recommendation. Clinical expertise will be practically assessed in shortlisted candidates. After hours and weekend duties on a rotational basis will be required.
