Drive Trade sales through Documentary and structured trade finance solutions of Business and Commercial Clients.

Develop profitable product relationships, identify and meet business needs of existing and potential clients, with value propositions and process standards.

Negotiate and develop Trade facilities for all clients and protect such business from activities of competitors.

Networking with other Sales Executives/ RM’s in the bank in order to solve client problems and provide client solutions


To deliver Trade solutions to clients in alignment with Business and Commercial Clients (BCC) objectives through an efficient and cost-effective way using appropriate technology, whilst innovating, enhancing and closing product gaps with our competitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads and executes the Trade and Africa China Banking sector value proposition, related toolbox(es) and business life journeys in country and customises accordingly.
  • Manages the Trade Finance business for country BCC.
  • Acquires market information and develops appropriate sales strategies for the product in country BCC.
  • Provides input into marketing plans and may be required to feature in Trade related special events (marketing related e.g. – export events etc.) to support the product awareness and sales goals. 
  • Represents Trade on all product related matters at different forums within BCC.
  • Identifies alliances and partnerships through which to extend the bank’s capability to innovate, incubate and market innovative products and solutions.
  • Drives and oversees Trade Finance sales across the entire BCC country network by managing the Trade value chain to maximise revenues and profitability in line with set objectives.
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Direct, Universal Bankers, Regional Managers, Branch Managers, Relationship Managers etc. to achieve Trade Finance sales.                                                                                                                                                                               
  • ·        Retains a key focus on client relationships, client experience and operational efficiency.
  • Implements and drives the agreed client value metrics.
  • Leads and drives for constructive and speedy resolution of client queries and complaints.
  • Identifies client trends through internal and external insights, informs strategic choices and priorities by engaging with clients and leveraging client analytics
  • Partners with Client Solutions and 3rd Party partners and Ecosystems to drive the delivery of multi-products and services for the client.
  • Stays abreast of market and competitive developments in order to provide innovative and value-added services to clients who are served by many renowned organisations. 
  • Where necessary provides subject matter expertise for deal complexity.
  • Identifies and executes on trade flow opportunities between Country and rest of the world.
  • Identifies alliances and partnerships through which to extend the bank’s capability to innovate, incubate and market innovative products and solutions.
  • Provides guidance in the processing of Trade Finance applications originated from BCC by liaising with Trade operations and Credit Support teams.
  • Accountable for the achievement of the sector financial and non-financial metrics (e.g. client attrition, profit growth and return on investment, etc.) in line with BCC Country requirements in close collaboration with country, other segment heads and Client Solutions.
  • Leads, guide and direct special projects and assignments as directed by the executive.
  • Manages the Trade product within defined regulatory and compliance tolerance levels.
  • Ensure that the operational affairs of Trade are administered effectively.                                        Accountable for risk management and adherence to all governance standards for the continued sustainability of the segment in country.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in following areas: Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Trade. Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

Experience in developing, designing and enabling segment value propositions. Experience in structuring, evaluating/assessment of credit request/application and international trade solutions. Experience in dealing with the diverse portfolios related to trade finance. Experience with products and processes across multiple segments and platforms. Strong understanding of digital, open banking and platform integrations.
