The University of Namibia is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the vacant Workhand/Labourer position, School of Veterinary Medicine, Neudamm Campus.
Specification
- Cleaning and maintaining animal facilities including bovine, equine and small animal facilities. Feeding animals as directed by supervisor, and grooming when applicable to the species. Loading and off-loading animal fodder and cleaning feed stores. Assisting lecturing, clinical and para-professional staff in animal restraint, animal moving and related activities during practicals and clinical activities. Work a 45 hour week including overtime.
Requirements
- A Grade 10 certificate with three (3) or more years proven work experience; in manual labour including all aspects of animal husbandry and related work, for example on a farm, veterinary facility, or animal holding facility. Basic knowledge of animal welfare. Knowledge of recognized safety precautions while handling large and/or aggressive animals.
