Specification

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Continuous mine production geology support including detailed mapping of areas scheduled to be mined, statistical and quantitative analyses of various parameters that impacts mining, resource reconciliation and production optimization.
  • Reviews both short and long term mine plans (crawler) for any resource related risks along with identifying and executing appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Undertakes geophysical data interpretation (2D and 3D chirp seismics) to aid mining rate prediction, mineability assessment and mining efficiency monitoring through all available datasets including possibly post mining AUV datasets.
  • Performs detailed reconciliation of crawler operating parameters (heat maps) that impact mining rate (number of slews, stepping distance and tramming speed) and clean-up efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor, audit and perform quality control checks of various production and specific crawler operating parameters to optimize production.
  • Performs detailed production reconciliation on all key mineral resource and mining parameters and pro-actively identify causes of anomalous performance.
  • Contributes in identifying possible actions to maximize/optimize production and ensure that production is undertaken at maximum possible efficiency.
  • Documents production related inputs, outputs, key parameters and observations in written reports and illustrate with maps, cross sections, histograms, cross-plots, dashboards and summary tables.
  • Participates in short-term operational mine planning and prepares detailed monthly production reports and presentations.
  • Evaluates current practices and keeps current on new developments in geology and other related fields to identify improvement opportunities on current mineral resource practices.
  • Provides geological and mineral resource support as required across other departments and work collaboratively between teams to ensure that best practices, optimizations and innovations are consistently and efficiently applied on-board the vessel.
