Senior Lecturer / Lecturer (Applied Mathematics)

The University of Namibia is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the vacant Senior Lecturer / Lecturer position, Department of Computing, Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, School of Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Engineering and Natural Sciences, Windhoek Main Campus.

Specification

• The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality courses in Applied Mathematics at both undergraduate and postgraduate level; supervise honours projects and postgraduate thesis/ dissertations; actively engage in research, and assist in sourcing research funding, play a key role in general academic administration at departmental / faculty level when needed and perform any other relevant duties as may be required.

Requirements

• Senior Lecturer: A PhD degree in Applied Mathematics coupled with three (3) years of service as Lecturer, and satisfactory record of teaching, research and publication, and service to the academic and wider community. A cumulative record of seven (7) publications, four (4) of which must have been published since attaining the grade of Lecturer. At least three (3) of the publications must be refereed scholarly works.
• Lecturer: A Masters degree in Applied mathematics coupled with three (3) years teaching experience. A satisfactory record of teaching, research, and contributions in service to the community.
