PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:


Develop and leads the Global Marketing Divisional strategy in order to ensure a balanced and profitable brand portfolio strategy is executed in categories based on relevant consumer research. Manage, lead, motivate and develop the Marketing Division and its employees.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Post Graduate Commercial Degree (NQF level 6), with a minimum of 15 years experience in a FMCG environment, specializing in Marketing OR
  • B-Tech Degree in Marketing with 10 years experience in a FMCG environment, specializing in Marketing, of which 5 years should have been on a Senior Management level.
  • Experience preferably in the Food or Beverage industry.
  • Previous experience in working and motivating third party agencies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Annual Marketing division strategy
  • Engages cross functionally with relevant stakeholders behind Marketing strategy and vision. Uses this information to ensure strategy is aligned to the rest of the business.
  • Assists in cascading the high-level strategy into operational objectives and budget for various departments.
  • Leads pricing strategy to support the winning portfolio and / or specific business responsibilities.
  • Develop and lead a winning portfolio strategy that will unlock growth for NBL.
  • Represent Marketing at Senior Leadership level engage stakeholders on the divisional agenda.
  • Settles only for deeply penetrative consumer understanding & insights and will push relentlessly until this is found.
  • Departmental Strategy and Game Plan development
  • Leads team to deliver powerful GAME plans (Business Planning cycle), effectively balances short- and long-term performance delivery.
  • Leads teams to deliver powerful consumer driven innovation, brand and Sponsorships & Events strategy\ies and exploits Total Beverage Company (TBC) critical innovation opportunities.
  • Approves the detailed operational plan and budget for Innovation, Brand, media, A&P, and Sponsorships & Events.
  • Monitor and control the execution of the detailed operational plans within the teams.
  • Coach, guide and assist Middle Leadership Team in the execution of the detailed operational plan.
  • Motivate and influence Senior Leadership Team on the approval of the annual A&P Plan and budget.
  • Provide input and approve the new NCP opportunities.
  • Accountable for controlling costs and managing budgets within the division.
  • Owns the Consumer & Customer segmentation Model by providing input to it and ensuring it is updated regularly.
  • Strategy Development & Execution
  • Owns Marketing Dashboard by ensuring it is maintained regularly. Uses information in this dashboard to base decisions on.
  • Owns and drive portfolio management and positioning
  • Co-owns the NBL Sponsorship Blueprint.
  • Approve the sponsorship matrix for each brand including investment and desired image association and consumer experience in conjunction with Brand management.
  • Compile yearly Capital Expenditure requirements list (Project wish list) for Projects and lead the prioritization process.
  • Leads the high-level innovation strategy and operational plan.
  • Engages and updates stakeholders/shareholders on business performance (BPR, open forums, shareholders, board)
  • Project Management and Implementation
  • Once authorization has been secured, develop project brief (alongside Manager: Marketing Innovations) i.t.o. resource needs, project steering committee, input required, etc.
  • Utilize project brief to form project team and delegate responsibilities (in collaboration with Manager: Marketing Innovations).
  • Accountable for the high-level monitoring and timeous execution of projects.
  • Provide specialist advice and coaching in project execution, where necessary.
