Job Description
Provision of basic services in the informal settlements/Low income areas.
Key Performance Areas:
- Manage the Basic Services Section.
- Lead the planning and design of basic services in the informal settlements.
- Coordinate and manage the formulation and execution of contracts.
- Provide professional project management service for the provision of basic services in the informal settlements.
- Manage ad-hoc requests for basic services and other engineering interventions in the informal settlements.
- Lead the carrying out of research and value engineering services in the provision of basic services.
Skills, Experience & Education
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
B. Sc (Civil Eng.), B. Eng (Civil) or B. Tech (Civil Eng.)
REQUIRED SPECIALISATION:
Civil/Engineering
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Six (6) years relevant job experience after registration as Incorporated or Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of Namibia
LEGAL REQUIREMENT: Registration with the Engineering Council of Namibia as Professional or Incorporated Engineer. Drivers license (Code B or BE)
PRE-APPOINTMENT TRAINING AS AN ADDED ADVANTAGE:
Basic Services. Project Management. Engineering Contract Law. Contract Management. CAD and GIS Applications.
KNOWLEDGE:
Local Authorities Act; Town planning laws, environmental Laws, Labor laws, other relevant laws, relevant policies, procedures, guidelines; project management; contract management, budgeting, material development, research, leadership, supervision, coordination, public participation approaches, community dynamics, conflict management.
SKILLS:
Complex problem-solving ; critical thinking; decision making; analytical; interpersonal; leadership; crisis management; time management; computer literacy, verbal, written and communication skills.
