Job Description
To manage the section and ensure sustainability of road building materials and supervise surfacing contracts and ensure infrastructure management systems are in place and functional.
Key Performance Areas
- Supervise the work/job activities of the staff members in the Section.
- Oversee road rehabilitation, reseal or overlay projects.
- Ensure materials laboratory performance adequate.
- Ensure infrastructure management systems are functional.
- Ensure sustainability of all road building materials and pavement design.
Skills, Experience & Education:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
BSC (Civil Engineering); B Eng (Civil Engineer); B Tech (Civil Engineering) or as required by the Engineering Council of Namibia for the registration of Incorporated or Professional Engineers.
REQUIRED SPECIALISATION:
Material analysis; Infrastructure Management Systems.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Six (6) years after registration as Incorporated Engineer; six (6) years after after registrations Professional Engineer or as per current policy.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
Driver's license, registration with the Engineering Council of Namibia as Incorporated or Professional Engineering.
PRE-APPOINTMENT TRAINING AS ADDED ADVANTAGE:
Contract management; infrastructure management systems; structural design of road pavements.
KNOWLEDGE:
Contract procedures; contractual claims procedures; materials investigations; methods of testing; pavement manage system; other infrastructure managements systems; Local Tender Board Regulations; Local authorities Act; Engineering Professions Act; Model Form 1; Construction contracts and Client/Consultant Form Agreements; technical expertise of roads and other infrastructure construction methodologies.
