JOB SCOPE
Responsibilities include senior officer in charge of fishing, management of vessel, vessel administration, vessel maintenance, unloading and loading procedures, emergency management, mooring and bunkering procedures and all matters relating to crew management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master class I or II STCW certificate for vessels over 2500 GT.
- Valid GMDSS certificate
- Valid radio license
- Valid marine safety certificate on advanced level
- Valid proficiency in survival craft certificate
- Valid ship captain's medical certificate.
- Proficiency in English
- Advanced computer literacy is imperative level working on fishing vessel's over 4000GT with
- 5 years or more experience in supervisory level engine output over 3000kW
Added Advantage:
- Experience working in the Namibian EEC fishing zone and all Namibian marine regulations
- Experience working with vessels with CPP steering system
- Experience working with MaxSea time zero WASSP, Olex version 14.1 + ATEC version bridge system
- Experience working Furuno, Simrad and Kaijo Denki fishing equipment
- Experience navigating with Transas Navi Fisher 3000 electronic chart system
- Experience working with Thrane & Trane communication system
- Experience working with large numbers multi-lingual crew (over 50 crew) will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Russian language
