Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Stock Controller and Supervisor to oversee inventory management processes, ensure accurate stock control, and supervise a team of workshop staff. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining optimal inventory levels, tracking stock movements, and ensuring the smooth operation of stock-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring sufficient quantities are available to meet demand without overstocking.
- Perform regular stock counts (physical inventory checks) and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
- Implement stock rotation procedures to minimize stock wastage and ensure product quality.
- Monitor and update inventory databases and systems for accuracy, tracking goods through the supply chain.

Team Supervision:
- Supervise and provide guidance to stock clerk and workshop staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to procedures.
- Train new staff on stock control processes, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and address any issues or concerns within the team.

Order Fulfillment & Stock Movement:
- Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring all stock is properly logged and stored in the appropriate areas.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, sales) to fulfill stock requests and manage backorders.
- Handle the preparation and processing of stock orders, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

Stock Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and maintain regular stock reports, including inventory turnover, stock aging, and variances.
- Analyze inventory trends to identify potential issues or opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with stock management procedures and regulations, including health and safety standards.

Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements to stock control processes to optimize efficiency and reduce errors.
- Monitor stock movement trends and adjust inventory practices to align with business needs.
- Assist with the development of inventory management strategies and forecasting.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, or workshop supervision (preferably in manufacturing / fabrication).
- Strong knowledge of inventory management software and systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience supervising a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and basic data analysis.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- A degree or certification in supply chain management, logistics, or related field (preferred).
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced workshop or storage facility environment.
- Some physical activity may be required (lifting, organizing stock, etc.).
- Occasional overtime may be necessary to meet business needs.
